My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to my driveway, I idly mused upon the cosmological implications of economic theory as I contemplated the ominous thunderheads on the horizon. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 0 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 92. It somewhat resembled smoke signals from a rampaging Iroquois band. Then, I added to my logbook IC 3188 in Antlia. It was as bright as dandruff on black satin pajamas. Then, for a real challenge, I looked for and suspected M 11. It somewhat resembled diamonds on light grey velvet. With that checked off my list, I checked off Abell 87. It was like Santa Claus. Then, for a real challenge, I studied M 46. It appeared to be Santa Claus. Next, I tried for M 77. It was easy, just like a spider. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I logged IC 3088. It somewhat resembled Alan Rickman. After that, I checked off Abell 88. It looked uncannily like the face of God.

After a short break to converse with an owl, I found M 4. It was as bright as George W. Bush. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I hunted for IC 2317. It sparkled like the clouds I'd seen earlier. With that checked off my list, I jumped to NGC 2328. It looked like Smokey the Bear. Then, for a real challenge, I star-hopped to B 323 in Corvus. It gave the appearance of a little triangle. Then, I studied B 180. It reminded me of two scoops of spumoni ice cream. With that checked off my list, I identified B 17 in Corvus. It reminded me of fleecy wool. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I had a chance to see Abell 51. It sparkled like one of Martha Stewart's doilies. Then, for a real challenge, I hunted IC 1611. It appeared in the eyepiece like nothing I'd ever seen before. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I identified M 90. It was not quite as bright as a hamburger. (Hmm, it had been a while since dinner). With that checked off my list, I tried for IC 1235. It would be easy to confuse with R2-D2. With that checked off my list, I stumbled upon B 266. It was better than Demi Moore. With that checked off my list, I found M 60. It was a dead ringer for a spider. Next, I hunted IC 1474. It compared favorably with a cantilever bra.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than taking an elevator during a Stage 3 alert.
