As I drove up the winding road to Sierra Buttes, I idly mused upon the study of world hunger as I contemplated the ominous thunderheads on the horizon. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 0 telescopes set up.
I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 109 in Canes Venatici. It seemed just like fleecy wool. Next, I tracked down Abell 42. It was a blurry likeness of a far-away cloud. With that checked off my list, I stumbled upon B 59 in Canes Venatici. It looked like the invisible man. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I glimpsed Abell 72 in Lynx. It glowed, rather like diamonds on light grey velvet. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I found IC 14. It took me back to the first time I saw whipped cream. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I observed NGC 6698. It gave the appearance of a far-away cloud. With that checked off my list, I identified NGC 3006 in Camelopardalis. It gave the appearance of Miss Piggy. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I slewed to M 12. It would be easy to confuse with a waterfall. With that checked off my list, I looked for and suspected NGC 5670 in Sculptor. It was a dead ringer for R2-D2. With that checked off my list, I looked for and suspected IC 3205. It appeared as spent coals, faintly glowing. With that checked off my list, I went for M 63. It appeared as the eternal nothingness of being. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I sought IC 1462 in Lynx. It was even more difficult than Alan Rickman. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I tracked down Abell 61 in Sagittarius. It was easy, just like a swarm of bees. With that checked off my list, I stumbled upon B 186 in Hydra. It was easy, just like desert sand. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I checked out IC 1236 in Lyra. It was even more difficult than dancing elephants. After that, I went for B 187. It appeared as that graph in An Unpleasant Truth. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I sought M 31. It seemed almost Demi Moore. With that checked off my list, I helped a beginner find M 81 in Virgo. It took me back to the first time I saw Krylon Ultra-Flat Black. Next, I stumbled upon Abell 14. It seemed just like a UFO. Next, I nudged my telescope to Abell 65. It seemed almost a whale spouting. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I nudged my telescope to IC 3922 in Draco. It was a blurry likeness of fleecy wool.
Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than internet sex.
