My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to my secret observing location, I idly mused upon the popularity of underwater basket weaving as I contemplated the La Nina conditions. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 56 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 68 in Triangulum. It reminded me of cotton candy. After that, I glimpsed Abell 31. It was like two scoops of spumoni ice cream. After that, I found by accident B 402 in Pisces Austrinus. It appeared as ripples of water. After that, I identified IC 2831. It seemed almost a smoke ring. After that, I studied B 633. It was a dead ringer for yet another globular. Then, I checked out NGC 6054 in Fornax. It glowed, rather like an inflamed monkey butt.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than getting shot in the face by Dick Cheney.
