Flume Trail Ride, 9/26/2004

Bill & Benita led a group of ten bikers (plus two dogs) on the famously scenic Tahoe Flume Trail.

The trail begins with a long climb along a sandy fire road from Spooner Lake to Marlette Lake, a lovely spot for a picnic lunch. Then it skirts the south end of Marlette Lake (in wet seasons you actually ride through part of the lake, but not in late September) and traverses out onto an old log flume running along the side of the cliffs overlooking Lake Tahoe. Finally, it descends along a steep, fast, sandy fire road to the Ponderosa Ranch (yes, the one from the old TV show).

Weather was perfect, the trails were fun, and the aspens were in glorious color. A good time was had by all!
