Off Forest Rd 10 in the Jemez above Ponderosa, we had seen references to a collection of rock formations known as "goblins" or "hoodoos", as well as several ruins. Time to explore!
We drove down from near Jemez Falls to find Kiatsukwa ruins, which turned out to be quite extensive and spread over a wide area. (Not many pot sherds, though ... we only found one.) We found a few petroglyphs on a nearby cliff.
Then we continued down FR 10 to a pullout from which we were able to climb up to a ridge and down to the goblin colony.
After exploring the upper goblins, we traversed back to the car and continued down FR 10 to Paliza campground, where we parked and walked up FR 271 (which is gated, you can't drive it, and it would be fairly technical even if the gate were open). It's about two miles of easy walking to the bottom of the goblin colony, with one small ruin along the way.
