LinuxConf.au sure knows how to put on a party. They treated all the conference speakers to a dinner cruise on Sydney Harbor early in the week.
It turns out there was a practical reason for the Speakers' Dinner as well: after dinner we had a talk on how to give better talks (emphasizing flash over content, presumably figuring that most of us had content already). I didn't agree with all of the points but it was all certainly worth thinking about, and I love the idea of giving all the speakers a talk on speaking better -- a subject I, for one, am always interested in, especially right before a big talk.
