Katoomba and the Blue Mountains

After the LinuxChix trip, I elected to stay in Katoomba for another day, hoping to catch some dark southern skies on one of my two nights in the Blue Mountains.

As it happens, the astronomy was not to be -- it was cloudy both nights, and for the rest of my stay in Australia, alas. But I did get in some more good hiking, and I met a longtime e-friend in person for the first time, which alone made the trip worth it.
