Linus shaving Bdale at LCA2009

This was part of the charity auction to save the Tasmanian devil from the horrible facial tumors that are threatening the species with extinction. The bidding stalled at just short of $10,000 Australian, but a coalition of people in the audience banded together and promised a higher bid on condition that Linus Torvalds would shave off Bdale Garbee's beard, which Bdale has had since 1982. Bdale graciously agreed to the sacrifice. The eventual funds raised for the devils, after several sets of matching funds were added, was nearly $40,000!
