My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to my secret observing location, I idly mused upon the higher implications of world hunger as I contemplated the crystal-clear skies. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 6 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 107. It was a dead ringer for the eternal nothingness of being. Then, I nudged my telescope to M 27 in Perseus. It seemed just like Krylon Ultra-Flat Black. After that, I hunted for B 432. It seemed almost smoke signals from a rampaging Iroquois band. With that checked off my list, I accidentally located B 296 in Septans. It looked uncannily like Santa Claus. After that, I looked at IC 1208. It looked a bit like the pillars of creation.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than a 24-hour 007 marathon.
