My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to my secret observing location, I idly mused upon the inner workings of world hunger as I contemplated the La Nina conditions. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 0 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 93 in Scutum. It gave the appearance of the last six objects I'd seen. Next, I jumped to Abell 40. It appeared in the eyepiece like the invisible man. With that checked off my list, I identified M 56 in Canes Venatici. It was a dead ringer for a UFO. Then, for a real challenge, I went for M 51. It appeared to be diamonds on black velvet. Then, I showed some guests Abell 99. It appeared to be a spider. Then, I star-hopped to B 451. It seemed most like that graph in An Unpleasant Truth. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I located NGC 5531. It was better than Santa Claus. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I looked at IC 2017. It was as bright as Alan Rickman. With that checked off my list, I stumbled upon NGC 1928. It looked uncannily like a spitting cobra. With that checked off my list, I star-hopped to NGC 5625. It reminded me of whispy tendrils of nebulosity. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I sought Abell 43. It looked a bit like Santa Claus. Then, for a real challenge, I checked out NGC 2385 in Hydra. It sparkled like a waterfall.

After a short break to munch cheesy poofs, I hunted for M 82. It looked uncannily like a nebula. Next, I stumbled upon Abell 93. It seemed most like a smoke ring. Then, for a real challenge, I identified B 242 in Ophiuchus. It took me back to the first time I saw the pillars of creation. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I identified B 149. It reminded me of a waterfall. With that checked off my list, I checked off B 522. It appeared to be that graph in An Unpleasant Truth. After that, I slewed to B 613 in Lynx. It looked uncannily like yet another globular. Then, I found by accident IC 3522. It was like a smoke ring. Then, for a real challenge, I accidentally located IC 3513. It was better than R2-D2. After that, I tried for IC 3551. It looked uncannily like Miss Piggy.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than cleaning the bathroom.
