Image Formats for the Web
Every time I see someone ask about image formats, I think "Someone really ought to write up a howto explaining the difference between GIF, JPG and all the other formats, and what they're good for." There probably are documents like this, but I've never seen one. So I wrote one. Image Formats for the Web and Elsewhere.
